How this one is built

Built to order from a new sealed LEGO® Technic Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit. We turn the crank through a full orbit and check that the Earth's rotation and tilt, the Moon's orbit and the seasons line up before packing. The Moon arm is the vulnerable part, so it ships as a fragile parcel in cut foam with the arm braced. Spot-gluing fixes the base and the outer frame and leaves the whole gear train turning. Fits the Tabletop case in Medium.

What is in the parcel

  • The built set, posed and checked
  • Spare parts, bagged and labelled
  • The original instructions and the flattened box
  • A bench card: who built it, when, glued or not, and how many spares

Care notes

  • Dust with a soft, dry make-up brush, or compressed air held well back.
  • Keep it out of direct sun: white and light grey bricks yellow over the years.
  • Lift it by the base or the heaviest part, never by a tower, wing or stem.
