Unglued by default

Glue, honestly

Every set leaves the bench unglued unless you ask. Here is what spot-gluing does, what it does not do and why it is a one-way choice.

Unglued (standard)

Unglued is how every set leaves the bench unless you ask otherwise. It is held together only by the bricks themselves, exactly as designed, and it comes apart like any set.

That means you can re-pose it, move house with it in sections, rebuild it, or sell it complete later. Display models are designed to stand and hold together on a shelf, and most never need glue.

Spot-glued for display

Spot-gluing fixes a small number of key joins with clear glue: the joins that carry weight or take knocks. On a plant that is usually the vase and the stem bases; on a building, the outer walls and tower joins; on a car, the wings and body panels.

Anything that should move keeps moving: steering, suspension, opening parts and anything you may want to re-pose are left free. Each product page says exactly which joins we fix on that set.

What we never glue

  • Technic internals and working functions: gears, steering, suspension and pistons.
  • Printed parts and stickers. Glue can cloud print and lift sticker edges.
  • Minifigures and accessories, which are bagged or mounted on studs instead.
  • Parts you are meant to pose, such as orchid blooms and flower heads.

Why it is not reversible

Glued bricks cannot be pulled apart without damaging them, and a glued section cannot be rebuilt, re-posed or taken apart for moving. Glued sets are also much harder to repair after a fall, and we say so before we take one on.

If you are unsure, choose unglued. You can email us and we will tell you what we would fix on that particular set.

Glued items and returns

Spot-gluing is work done to your specification, so spot-glued items cannot be returned for a change of mind. Checkout lists any spot-glued lines and asks you to confirm that you understand this before you pay.

Faults and transit damage are always put right, glued or not. See shipping and returns.
